Warning about companies offering fixed fee services

There are other local computer repair guys out there offering a fixed fee service of only £35 no matter what the problem - we would advise caution when trying to compare these sort of prices against a computer repair shop like ours
We are a genuine local company, with a computer shop that you can visit with an alarm and CCTV to protect your equipment, and more importantly we are insured against all risks to your property! (Click "About Hull Computers" in menu, to verify)
If something goes wrong, then we will be only to happy to put it right within our warranty periods, or will still try to ensure satisfaction beyond the warranty, as our business is built on reputation.
Now we're not saying that we are more expensive, in fact our average computer repair cost (based on last years figures 2011) is only around £40 + the cost of parts, and in many cases we were able to agree a fixed price with the customer once the problem had been diagnosed.
The cost of parts is another point to consider, as these competitors work on a fixed fee of £35 for the labour, they would then buy parts at full retail prices and add that to the cost including a % on top - meaning that you pay way over the RRP for the parts on top of their fixed fee!
We have a network of trade suppliers and are able to buy at great prices, meaning that we often supply parts at below RRP if we are fitting them.

We aren't saying that these other computer repair guys might not know their stuff, in fact we started out at the same level once upon a time, but confined our services to family and friends.
In an open market where computer repair guys can appear to be equal to established Ltd companies but cheaper, we believe that customers should be able to make an informed choice of who they let fix their expensive computers.

Installation & Maintenance

It's important that your PC is cleaned internally at least once a year, it's amazing how much dust and fluff those fans suck into the machine, blocking air vents and clogging the fans up.
There are a lot of highly sensitive components inside your PC that need to be kept cool, and if the processor and RAM get too hot - they will attempt to keep cool by running at a reduced speed!

PC Cleaning Over time your PC also becomes sluggish due to old files and invalid references that are no longer needed, revitalize your PC with a Tune-up, this usually takes around an hour and can be done onsite for only £30.
